Tottenham fans react after shocking loss to West Ham at Wembley
Tottenham fans have every reason to be disappointed following Wednesday’s 3-2 defeat to West Ham in the Carabao Cup, in a game that Mauricio Pochettino’s men should have won comfortably.
While it is true that Spurs rested a number of first team players, their second half performance was extremely lethargic and it appeared that West Ham clearly wanted it more.
The home side got off to the perfect start when Moussa Sissoko netted with just a few minutes of the game gone. And Spurs seemed in cruise control when a deflected Dele Alli effort found its way into the bottom corner.
Going into half time 2-0 to the good, perhaps Spurs players rested on their laurels because the second half performance was abject to say the least.
Two goals from Andre Ayew and a header from Angelo Ogbonna completed a remarkable comeback for West Ham.
While the Carabao Cup is certainly at the bottom of the priority list for Spurs in terms of competitions this season, a number of fans are unhappy and see the loss as a wasted opportunity to win a trophy this season…
